How tall are the stones, SL? It's eerie looking, isn't it?

Oh, wow, THANK YOU, THANK YOU :)))))))
I have loved these megalitic stones and this one in Stonehenge is the best preserved in Europe. Many exists all over Europe and were destroyed, because people did not realise they are in fact prehistoric buildings. One of such megalitic monuments (680 cm) was discovered close to the place I live and imagine, it was studied and for the first time described in details by one Scottish historian, who originally came here to teach English, but later published a lot of papers on this megalitic monument full of signs:

I have got one publication from him, too.

Very interesting. Thank you for sharing :))

Great picture SL! We have megalithic stones here in my village and a burial site from around 250bc The site is considered to be one of Scotland's most important historical sites - yet neglected by the authorities, which is really sad. It doesn't even have a sign post.
We - the Residents' Association - have lobbied, requested and almost begged Historic Scotland to do something but met with deaf ears which is disappointing. Here is a link if anyone is interested....

They must be really impressive up close, SL and you do wonder how on earth it was achieved. I'm going to check out those links above in a minute too. I love rocks, stones, pebbles... If you like these you'd probably love the episode of Coast where a young man - forgotten his name - balances one stone on the tiniest surface area of another. It was a few weeks ago now but wouldn't be surprised if it's on Youtube. It was frankly mind-blowing!
