Princess Alexandra and a weed

Princess Alexandra and a weed

This is a rose that escaped soggydom and the 'weed' I was nurturing as a prize plant. I think it's a hairy willow herb. Anyway, I pulled it up and used some of its flowers in a vase! The other little pink cotton ball heads are Lychnis Jenny Jx

I know. I didn't fancy a garden full of it, so it had to go! Jx

Oh my, this is beautiful.. even the weed is beautiful, see a weed does not always need to be a weed.... if it is in the right place..:)))

Some weeds are pretty. I always leave some in the garden, but I call them 'wild flowers' :o)

That's lovely Jane. I really like the Lychnis, not seen it before.

It's tall and floaty Annie. Well it would be under normal weather conditions. Mine is looking rather bedraggled. Jx

Will definitely buy her, I saw her earlier in the year it was to choose between her or 'William Shakespeare' I chose the 'W S', but going back for her in the autumn. :))

Oh Michaella, she is my favourite of them all. Strong stems and fantastic flowers. A really healthy plant and she has survived all the rain we had. Another really beautiful rose I got is Tess of the D'Urbervilles. Red, strong stems and very healthy. Beautiful full blooms. Will put a pic on for you. Jx

I agree with Hywel, as long as you are not over-run with them, weeds are wild flowers.

Great photo Jane :)

Gosh Pimm, that's praise from you. Thank you -will take a modest bow! I took some pics of the tadpoles in the pond and my first thought was Pimm would have done a whole lot better. Just got a little point and shoot (Pentax) - great for round the garden and hols lol, but not so good for specialised stuff. Jx
