And small, elderly, ugly men pretending to have serious discussions with them (the scw, that is), and B movies and soaps from 1970's/1980's America. Be fair, though, GF, there are some interesting programmes, but I very rarely manage to find them, and I've given up searching and reverted to the British rubbish instead.

Yes, There often are but rarely during prime time ... documentaries and the like tend to be shown during the day I think ... You do have to search hard to find them though .... :)

Earthquake, Katarina? What earthquake? I'm joking - we were woken by it, but it was very mild where we were - our neighbours 2 kms up the valley didn't feel a thing!

Where do you live? Epicentre was north of Bologna. I hope Grana Padano and Parmigiano Reggiano will not disappear from shops. I love it sooo much :)

We are to the south of Bologna, Katarina, up in the mountains, about 40 kilometers from the city centre. OH's cousin, who lives up in Venice felt it as strongly as we did, and so did people we know who live down in Genoa, about 100 miles away. One of my daughter's mature students, who is a seismologist, says that the fault line runs roughly under the Po river. The tectonic plates from Alps and Appennines meet and are constantly under pressure as the two mountain ranges push together. However, it isn't a particularly active fault, thank goodness.
The only thing you can be sure of is that Grana and Reggiano will cost a lot more, it certainly won't disappear from the shops!
