Thanks Karen....Got to run (hobble) now, I am being offered a free lunch in town...best take my wallet :))

23 May, 2012

Lol! Enjoy!! :)))

23 May, 2012

Well done, P! It is beautiful.

23 May, 2012

How wonderful is that! Hope you are pleased with yourself Pimps.....Enjoy lunch in the sunshine.

23 May, 2012

i am very very impressed!

23 May, 2012

WOW!!! Welcome to the mosaicers club Pimp, and enjoy lunch with your new agent ;)))

23 May, 2012

Thank god for that, a man to show how it should be done ; )

23 May, 2012

Meant to say, if you can't find your wallet Pimp, check your pockets....and not the pockets of your 'special' pants ;)))

23 May, 2012

Wow, P! That is absolutely stunning. I really like it a lot. What will you do with it? I know if I'd produced something like that I wouldn't want anyone else to take it away from me, even for good money.

23 May, 2012

Stevie's next!!!

23 May, 2012

Stevie's next what?

23 May, 2012

Man made mosaic!

23 May, 2012

got my half box of economy BnQ tiles at the ready ; )
have put quite some thought into it and I think I will go for snow leopard stalked by polar bear as white rabbit watches on during the arctic blizzard white out.

23 May, 2012

Stunning P....the boy done good :)))))

23 May, 2012

Where are you going to have it, Pim??

Glass on glass...lit from both sides, perhaps...? :)

23 May, 2012

Aww..Thanks every one. It was fun doing it, then a bit dramatic seeing the mess the grout made of it..Curiously I loved cleaning it up..that was like revealing the light or editing a photograph. Glass cutting is a skill all by itself

Stevie...That polar mosaic is possible... all about the cracks. Have a go, I'm not a mosaicer..but I picked up a few bits of broken blue and white pottery from the riverbank on the way home today....oh !

23 May, 2012

my favourite part is the centre going out to those golden and red petal like shapes, reminds me of a sunflower someone once bought me!

I take it your mosaic is finished by now Stevie??

23 May, 2012

Mmmm...I know that feeling, Pim :)

We used to make raku...

...it was the same, cleaning up-wise...like revealing a gem... :)))

23 May, 2012

Really Karen...I would love to watch/do a raku. Have you got any pieces?

23 May, 2012

It's really good Pimp - love the colours

23 May, 2012

well done Pimms, looks great.

23 May, 2012

Urgh!...No!!!

It's a period in my life which still reminds me of austerity!!

...and having to stay up all night, logging the kiln...and having to stay up all night getting things ready for orders unfulfilled!!

Just No!!!
We did the 'Liberty's of London' and all that...and our work is in various local council 'collections'...but, in those days...
...it was always, 'Famine or Feast'!!!
(and my wee boy needed things like the latest Disney film pencil case!)

23 May, 2012

Lol...Feast was always great though even if it was just a fish supper...been there!

Has my council got some ? ... Art is one of the few things they are reasonable/good at.

23 May, 2012

It is, all about the cracks!

23 May, 2012

Def is..about the cracks Lu. I was so bothered about breaking a lovely piece of glass..The cracks are magical. I cut a great shape, but realised I had to snap it to make it interesting.. Funny stuff.

Next project..Cane chair repair..

23 May, 2012

That's disappointing, P - I'd hoped you might go for Majolica work.........

23 May, 2012

Don't worry Gattina....he will soon be chasing the dragons tail ;)))

24 May, 2012

Fab-u-lous piece of work, love it......

24 May, 2012

Funny you should mention dragons, Lil - late last night, (early this morning, actually)when I was clicking through comments, this one opened and for a moment I got the sensation that there was a large dragon/dinosaur glaring at me. Shades of Jurassic Park!
Anyway - "chasing the dragon's tail" or "Chasing the dragon" ??!!! What sort of murky things are you implying about poor Pim? Actually, maybe the first could be of help for his poor back. I suppose the second could, too, but it's a bit extreme, isn't it?

24 May, 2012

Simply alluding to the addictiveness of creating mosaics. It supplies us with a natural high ;))) Nothing murky about Pimp :))

24 May, 2012

Nah! Squeaky clean is our Pim -Or IS he?

24 May, 2012

Lol....my lips are sealed ;)

24 May, 2012

Yeah, but mine aren't!

24 May, 2012

Lol...Anyone with the slightest amount of "murk" on me, is no longer breathing or living abroad. ;)

24 May, 2012

I rest my case.

24 May, 2012

:0 :0 :0!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good thing I dropped off a transcript of this to my solicitor should I 'suddenly disappear or come to harm'......Your murk is safe with me Pimp! Really!!!! :/

24 May, 2012

In modern Italian folklore, there are large brown paper envelopes known as "bustarelle". (Google it.....) :-O

24 May, 2012

Ah...Si Gattina.... We shall do our exchange at our prearranged destination. I will bring the 'package' and you bring the 'information' ;)))

24 May, 2012

;-) I think you and I are going to have to watch it, Lil. If we carry on this thread much longer, they'll be turning out the men in white coats.
Actually, I hadn't expected YOU to be carrying the bustarella, it was more aimed at P., but Hey! Whatever!

25 May, 2012

Came back from my holiday late last night and found you had made a master piece WOW WOW and treble WOW it is fantastic not only can you produce a beautiful mosaic you can photograph it brilliantly too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

26 May, 2012

Lol..thanks Nana...Lots of encouragement and advice from oversea's went into it.;) I hope you had a lovely break.

26 May, 2012

Yes Pimps it was wonderful except someone half inched an azalea from my front garden would you believe it!!!!

26 May, 2012

Yes...I lived in a house where the small front gardens were open plan. When I moved in spent a week digging, weeding and pruning the neglected roses, cutting them right back hard. Got up the next morning and they had all been dug up and taken!

26 May, 2012

Did you notice Deb that it is glass on glass?
No fooling around for our Pimp ;)

26 May, 2012

This is lovely. Sorry I missed it previously.
Adding to GoYpedia :o)))

13 Jun, 2012

Hi Pimp, re: your last post, there's been warnings out again for thefts of garden plants/ornaments/baskets, so all take care.

13 Jun, 2012

Thanks Sue...it is unbelievable isn't it ? Nothing's safe these days.

13 Jun, 2012

Added this to GoYpedia... see comment above.

13 Jun, 2012

There's a programn on BBC 1 this morning, about it...which includes all your tools Power and and hand...etc...

13 Jun, 2012

Thank you TT.. I am glad you like it, i will go and brag to Lil later :))

They were stealing peoples Dogs from gardens a couple of years ago...keep your eye on Conker and Truffles TT.

13 Jun, 2012

I think I've now put all your mosaic pics on GoYpedia ...
Lil will be impressed ;o)
Please nominate any I've missed.
They are very pretty :o)

I belong to an internet dog forum which reports lost and found dogs every day. This is a case where the internet has useful power, because the missing dogs are publicised nationwide, instantly.

Yes. Dogs are stolen from gardens, cars, anywhere.
Some pets [cats and dogs ] are sadly being used as bait for dog-fighters. Please everyone be vigilant.

13 Jun, 2012

Yes TT, very impressed that our boy has made it ;)

No need to brag to me Pimp, I am your biggest cheerleader, figuratively of course, not literally ;)))

13 Jun, 2012

Virtual cheerleaders ... we need more of those ;o)

13 Jun, 2012

Ha Ha lolo....

13 Jun, 2012

Wow Pimp - that is a really stunning piece. Great work mate :-))

5 Jul, 2012

I can't believe I missed this Pimms..getting very lax this past few months..well well..what a fantastic mosaic..and your first attempt? ..amazing..I wouldn't know where to start..not artistic at all,as regards this,or drawing,painting etc...hope to see more from you..or is there already some I've missed..again ?

5 Jul, 2012

Wow - that's brilliant Pimm's! (sorry I missed it before - must have been away sunning myself somewhere, lol). You must be so delighted with this especially as it's your first . . . are you working on another one??? What an achievement (hope you didn't cut yourself?!). x

5 Jul, 2012

Don't crowd him Bloomer and Sheila....he may end up with performance anxiety!
;)))

5 Jul, 2012

The show must go on.... So much glass left over.

5 Jul, 2012

Another Brit idiom??

5 Jul, 2012

It's the perfect circle that impresses me - using glass :/

6 Jul, 2012

We Brits have lots of idioms/idiots, Lil!

8 Jul, 2012

I'd be happy to take it off your hands Pimp :)))
Lol Gattina! Not exclusive to the Brits :)
