Ah,bless him,Karen..you must be so pleased to see him again..and he will be too..some company for you now..I'm filling up here..I always feel so sorry for them as they must wonder what is happening ..a lovely happy ending :o)

Oh Bloomer...he was sent to Nairobi, day before yesterday, for a connection that didn't, in reality, exist ...
poor wee soul...

A whole lot of TLC required...and a visit to the hairdresser's (when he's recovered a bit)...

6 May, 2012

Welcome home little fella. I bet he went mad when he saw you waiting for him.

6 May, 2012

He'll be sleeping soundly tonight K....Satchmo - mummy will be spoiling you for the next wee while!!!! Welcome home :)

6 May, 2012

He was delivered to the door, Sg...by a very nice pet carrier who delayed his journey to Spain (with two bull dogs and two dalmatians on board), by a whole day...on account of the Nigerian 'mix-up'...

I think he's tired and confused...he won't drink and he won't eat...I'm going to let him sleep easy until tomorrow.

Then take him to the vet.

Oh dear, poor little soul..I'm sure he will soon be back to his usual self,Karen..and good idea to let him come round in his own time...I bet he won't leave your side..plenty of cuddles is the order of the days ahead..give him a big cuddle from me X

That was very good of him - it's more likely dehydration K - he may well just need a wee 'pick me up'.
We will all be think off him!

6 May, 2012

Thank you so much Paul, Sticki, Bloomer and Scottish :))

He's no longer a spring chicken...and he's always had 'complexes'...but...I love that smelly wee black dog!

He's asleep now, on the rug...x

6 May, 2012

Awwww, too sweet.

6 May, 2012

And badly in need of a haircut, Lil! In fact he may need two or three sessions! lol!

7 May, 2012

I like his hair like that!

How is he today?

7 May, 2012

He slept like a log on the corner of my bed, Sticki - not something he's normally allowed to do.

Still a bit quiet and hasn't eaten much...but, I'll see how he goes today...

If he hasn't improved by tonight I'll take him for a check-up. Mind you, he is a bit like Samson - in reverse, he gets more perky when he sheds some of his locks. :)

7 May, 2012

Awww he's so lovely welcome home little man.

7 May, 2012

Hope he perks up soon, all the best, to you both!

7 May, 2012

Thank you Clarice and Sticki :)

We've been out today and he's better already. :)))

7 May, 2012

Oh J...I was really worried when he was supposed to have left Nairobi on a plane that didn't exist and nobody knew anything about where he might be...

Fang is not quite greyhound size but bigger than a whippet and the same sort of shape...with hackles like a hyena! lol!

7 May, 2012

Lovely to be home safely :o)

7 May, 2012

Yes TT...he's had quite an adventure...and he's glad he's home... :)))

7 May, 2012

:o)))

7 May, 2012

Yes, yes and yes, J!! LOL! x

7 May, 2012

What a wonderful life :)
Satchmo is beautiful! Is it kerry blue terrier or cocker?

8 May, 2012

It certainly is now, Katarina :)

There is an American Cocker Spaniel hiding somewhere under that all that hair!

8 May, 2012

Chasing cyclists again!!!

...back to normal...lol! :))))

8 May, 2012

:) After you answered I realised that he really has ears like cocker, not as terrier. But he looks lovely. When I was a small girl, my dream - which has never come true - was to get golden Cocker spaniel on a birthday :)

8 May, 2012

There's time yet, Katarina... ;)

btw...I haven't heard from my friend yet about the bees. I thought that I would meet her at the market on Monday but she wasn't there. Not forgotten, though!

Karen, just today I read some previous comments and-my God-he was lost? On a board of a wrong aeroplane? What has happened? Have you ever travlleded in a luggage, lol? I am som much afraid of aeroplanes, I can imagine what he went through. He doesn´t need just vet, but also psychologist....lol. Poor spirit.
So what happened?

9 May, 2012

He was sent home, as live cargo, Katarina - on an Air France ticket on Friday morning. Lagos to Nairobi (by Kenyan Airlines who are new partners of Air France), then Nairobi to Paris (Air France)...It should just have been a connecting flight.

But, the 'trip coordinator' in Nigeria got it wrong (what a surprise) and connected him onto a flight to Paris which had been discontinued.

So, he landed in Nairobi and didn't connect. We only found out when the pet carrier went to meet him off his non-existent flight the following morning. And Air France didn't know anything about it because they've only been partners with Kenyan Airlines for two weeks.

So then it took several hours to track him down and we were told that he was in an 'animal hotel' in Nairobi - and would fly on Saturday night.

He did land on Sunday morning...but he hadn't been out of his travel box since he left Lagos.

Thank goodness that the pet carrier stayed that extra day. He was wonderful and put Satchmo into a nice, big, clean cage...and delivered him to me on Sunday evening.

Pheww!! A very long weekend...

9 May, 2012

Thank goodness there are people who genuinely love animals looking after the travel arrangements this end. I can see how you were so grateful to him for hanging on to pick up Satchmo. Travel arrangements can be pretty awful for animals so I hope your other two will not have the same problems now you know about the connections/lack of them.

9 May, 2012

He was wonderful, Sg...I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him. He even called me last night to ask how Satchmo's doing.

When they went out, they went on the same flight as OH, who went before me. That was fine. But Satchmo couldn't come home on the same flight as me because he still didn't have his 'export' permit from the Nigerian authorities. Hopefully, when the others come they'll come with OH again...although, getting an export for the Nigerian dog will probably be a problem, full stop.

9 May, 2012

Lets hope for the best outcome.

9 May, 2012

Yes, indeed...thanks Sg. :)

9 May, 2012

Karen, finally a good end. But never send him again :) Look at him!

9 May, 2012

It'll definitely NEVER happen again Katarina!!! :))
