Hi J....This is a new one on me, but it is so rich...and ooh yes I think it will do very nicely there....Sorry about the quality of the pic...
If I can find one here, I'll certainly buy it, if not there's always Taylors...:)))

Hi , Crissue , lovely clem , don't know it ; I have a darkish red one but not as rich as this one . I've got about ten in the garden at the moment , of various sorts , but never do too well with them , apart from the Montana , oh, and the mad yellow Himalayan one .
Hope all goes well with you both .

If you put Clematis 'Niobe' in the search bow it comes up with members who have posted about it before, there are quite a few.

Hi Driad...lovely to hear from you, I expect you're busy busy...:))) We're fine...
That's a shame, do you know why the Clems don't do so well...I have a couple of Montana too, and they go like the wind...I'm a bit naughty at moving mine around, so it might help if you moved a couple to different spots, or changed the growing medium in the soil....I like the Himalayan Yellow, it's different...:)) I bought two recently, 'Ernest Markham' & 'Guernsey Cream' to go together, look forward to them next year...

Hi Moti I wouldn't mind this one too, but I don't know where I would put it though :)))

Niobe is fab! Goes through a few variations of its velvety colour as it opens to full.
