Mead Cottage, Rabbit Lane

Mead Cottage, Rabbit Lane

I have been searching around for pictures for this years Christmas Cards and I came across a couple of paintings I did of our lovely old cottage where we lived before moving to our Bungalow. I think it will make an ideal picture for this years cards, hope you like it ;0))

Double WOW,Carole! This is absolutely beautiful..I knew you used to paint, but I had no idea you did wonderful scenes like this..The more I look at it,the more I see..I love the way the branches hang over, especially the one which looks to have broken, with the weight of snow,on the right..well,that is how I see it,anyway..I am going to show off in future..and shall speak of you as 'my friend the Artist' !..just lovely..thanks for showing us..:o))..I am going to keep going back to it,to see what else I have missed..added it to Favourites..cos it is .Lol.

Many Thanks to everyone for all your lovely comments, the snow just a week sfter we moved in, it was fantastic, the old gentleman who lived in the first cottage was snowed in, all the neighbours came out to dig the snow so we could give him some coal and food through the bedroom window, it was a great way to meet all our new neighbours.
Stripes I do print them off and attatch them to a card adding some decoration, will put a picture on so you can see the finished result;0)
Sanbaz this painting is watercolour and pastels, like mixed media.
Sandra thanks for putting it on your favourites and the branch was broken with the snow. I have just logged on and can't believe I can reply to all your comments [wonder if Peter as solved my problem];0)

how lovely that you look after each other as neighbours. The neighbours we have here give a helping hand to each other. It makes such a difference. This is a lovely painting and would make a super Christmas card. Snow is one of the more difficult of pictures to paint so well done you!!!

Thanks BA, Its a long story but basically the cottage was delightful but very tiny [one bedroom] and there was no parking, so that did become a problem ,it was also quite remote and when my husband retired we felt it was time to move onto something a little more modern and within reach of facilities. We spent 11 blissful years at the cottage and I will never forget those happy times and good friends we made there.

Sandra I love using mixed media you can get great effects with it ,give it a try ;0)
