You got a lovely moving in present then the oldest roses have more than 5 leaves and scented stronger than the new ones, for future ref.

I really know very little about roses, sixpence...I always thought that you had to cut off stems with more than 5 leaves!
...have just been out to have a look and, strangely, there is one of 6 leaves!

If it is a five leaf one yes you cut the one with six off as that becomes a strangular, or reverts back to the old rose it was crossed with so I was told.

Mind blowing Colour...pity we don't know the name...

It is a beautiful colour...the pictures are quite true to it...It will be a rose which was available in France any time between 1960 and 1978, I think....
