I heard mention of a 'grass frost' on TV this morning - I presume this is what they meant? Hope it hasn't done any damage.

Been at work for most of the day Gee but dont think it did any damage, the grass was white though.

All those young plants we have been rushing to get out Dawn, Glad to here you don't think they have been damaged !

25 May, 2011

Oh dear not another, hope it wasn't too hard.

What with you with the ground frost, up here i'm fedup with all the heavy rain and strong winds :(

26 May, 2011

Yes Amy, all those young plants but I took the decision to get them out before the end of May, they seem OK though, think it must have just been on the open ground, next to the pond.
Thanks Dotty, the plants seem OK.
Oh Carol, sounds terrible, we need rain but not the winds, had enough of them.

Tell me about it, its more like autumn here, infact its tipical ilumination weather as usually as soon as the lights turn on the weather is like this :(

26 May, 2011

Yes I remember being in Blackpool at the illuminations in wind and rain. The lit up trams fascinated me.

Must hadmit when it rains and the lights are on, they look so nice as they reflect in the wet.

Shocking isn't it....bloomin nature, always having a laugh at our expense!

It is Karen, has your rain and wind calmed down now.

Beautiful blue sky DA....gorgeous....can't get outside though because of the howling winds....AGAIN :((

29 May, 2011

Poor you Karen, I hate the winds, hope you're escaping damage.

ONly the clematis really that are suffering, and some of the roses. I went to London with a few buds opening on my 'Summer Song'. Luckily I saw a beautiful one on David austin's stand because when I got home there was no sign of the flowers on mine...totally disappeared! The branch must have snapped clean off, and probably ended up next door!

Its a shame the clematis are being bashed around Karen. Did you buy another David Austin Summer Song from Chelsea? Typical that the flowering branch snapped, grrrr

30 May, 2011

No DA, I didn't. You can't really buy plants at Chelsea...only for mail order and of course the bare-roots are now out of season. My rose is still ok though, only one branch off I think. Still some buds on there for later.

30 May, 2011

I see Karen. Looking forward to seeing pics of your Summer Song in due course.

30 May, 2011

Yes, it is a lovely one. I really want to get that Hot Chocolate though...that would look wonderful next to it!
