Lovely border and do I spy a nice shady corner with ferns in? Hel.xxx.

Good eye Hel - those are ferns at the back. There's pink lily of the valley at the far right corner, but they didn't bloom this year.
It's not properly shady back there - there are a few hours of full, hot sun, but it's the best we can do, and the ferns we planted last year seem ok with it.
Our pulmonarias near the back on the right, and one of them faints as the sun touches it, then recovers once it passes by. It's so sad I may have to give that plant away.
Our idea for that area is to get rid of the grass and put down stepping stones with ground cover between them. Hopefully we'll complete that by the end of the season.
