That's a very nice photo, Clarice! :-)) I also have, or had, a white one but last year it didn't flower.

I had three different colour Amaryllis in one single pot for several years but when I lifted them from their "summer holiday" on the allotment I separated them but now I don't know which one it is!

I have about 50 bulbs! They are all on the windowsills - up to three tiers high!

Don't worry about that, Clarice, they can go a year or sometimes tow without flowering. Just keep it growing & give it a weekly dose of Tomato or Rose fertilizer. Did it get at least 6 weeks of cold? They need this time to produce a flower bud. Also try to see that it gets all the sun you can give it. They originally come from hot dry climes where they get a baking in the summer. But the winters are cold, but don't have frost, so these bulbs will die if they get frosted.

Did you expect it to flower at Christmas or the New Year? Only prepared bulbs do that - just like Hyacinths & Daffs are specially prepared to flower over Christmas. There natural time is - like the bulbs I've mentioned above - the spring. Most of mine flowered in April last year. But they will flower at any time once the bulb is big enough. I sometimes have the red one flower twice a year! Not every year but it has happened on more than once!

Most of my bulbs haven't got flowers or buds as yet nor do I expect them to until April. Just a few start earlier.

No i did'nt expect it to flower at xmas, as it usually flowered about now same time as this one, thanks for info about them, and i'll see what happens next year with them.

I have a third bulb just starting to open with & red flowers. In the kitchen window there are two other bulbs with flower buds that should start to flower in a week or two. It seems this year the flowering period is going to be more extended than last year.
