Philesia magellanica

Philesia magellanica (Philesia magellanica)

I'm really excited by this one. It was on my 'wants' list for several years before I got one in late autumn 2006. It needs a moist, acid soil in part shade and will eventually make a suckering shrub about three feet tall and up to twice that across. Last year, it carried one flower and this year it has three buds already although it is still a very small plant.
