Another Little Visitor - A Bullfinch

what fantstic colours, do you know what its called PP

How lucky are you to get this visitor so rare to see one of these what a wonderful sight lovely photo.

He's lovely PP. I think you'll findf he's a Chaffinch.....

So sorry Yorkshire, Sixpence and Stripes its a Bullfinch think this is the male as the female is a paler pinky colour, they are very colourful and attractive birds but watch out for your berries and blosson in spring, they sometimes visit in a flock and can strip a tree in a few, but minutes, but still love to see them , have put their name up now lol

I had loads of these when I lived in the old cottage, but up here there are none :o(

Just beautiful Carole....we don't see Bullfinches here, so this is a real treat, such a fabulous colour.

I already knew it was a Bullfinch Carole so you no need to be sorry to me, :o))) as I had one visit my garden a few years ago, not seen one since which is a shame, if my berries go missing I ll know now who took them lol thanks

Beautiful Pansy, love the bullfinches, they are so shy, their colour is so bright in real life, isnt it. Havent seen one here since last Spring, lucky you.

He is beautiful Carole,I have never had one here.I think your menu must be more varied than mine..do you know what he likes to eat? I know you put out lots more different things than me..sometimes they just don't seem interested in mine..Sob.!..They must be fed up of nuts,seed and fatballs..

Thanks all, it is a very beautiful bird, we usually have visits in Spring and Autumn so they are obviously feeling the effects of the severe winter weather, they normally eat flower buds , berries and seeds.

How lovely, PP, I can imagine how thrilled you must be. I saw one a couple of years ago, when I first joined GoY but it was a very fleeting visit and has never been repeated :(

Thanks Gee, It was good to see them , but they havent been around for a few days as the weather as got a little warmer and the snow as gone!

I my mind I always seem to read your GoY name as PansySpotter! So when I saw this picture of yours of the Bullfinch I wondered if you were now BirdSpotter! :-D LOL!

Lovely photo, what a beautful bullfinch, such striking colours.

Love the bullfinches. WHen we lived down the road we had them visit but only about this time of year until February March time. They are so colourful and light up these dull days.
