My brother gave me a tiny slip offshoot of this plant in 2003. The bulbs for it at the GC are very large and rather pricey. He had to stand on a plank to lever the plant out of the ground!!. His new neighbour wanted it removed so her little lads could play ball nearbye. He distributed it among various people he gardens for. When it filled its first pot I gave it this pot and it seems to like it. Not doing so well in the garden though. Slugs and snails think its delicious. Other name is Swamp Lily.

Fabulous looking container plant!
My compliments to the "chef"!
In the left side of the photo, there is some long, "multiple looking blooms", next to the fence. What are those? I have been looking for something like that!
Very beautiful area!

Hi n2. They are really hanging basket plants. I wondered how they would do in a really deep pot. . Right side Verbena Hibrida Lanai Hot Pink just one tiny pot. Left side. Million Bells Calibrachoa Trailing Coral Glow at www.surfinia.info. The million bells surfinias are a miracle plant. The main plant is Heuchera. First time ever Iv'e used my big pots for this planting. The Verbena is Syngenta seeds. 1 pot each planted in May, little tiny pot....amazing what the plant breeders can do!

I'm SO impressed with the area! {jotting down all of the plant names and making a list for the next "nursery shopping spree".. {grin}

I hope that my local "plant lady" stocks all of these! {chuckle}

How does your crinum come through the winter ?

Do you need to give it extra protection?

Hi Scotcat......It was left exactly where it is behind a Jostaberry fruit shrub, now pruned back. The photo is dated for end of July. I think it might be Ok. A couple of outside bulbs were squishy. It shares with Crocus and a self sown Eringium Planus!!! I am such a softie I have left the Eryngium to get on with it (only one flowering shoot). I have a Crinum in the ground too beginning to assert itself. My brother said 'beware....watch out, there a Crinum about to assert itself'
