Thank you all - I'm glad you like my pot. It's a beaautiful Heuchera, this one. :-))) I have several in pots this year, and I agree, Janette. They do look good in pots - they're shown off better, I think.

3 Jun, 2010

Yes, they do - such useful plants, either in pots or in the garden. :-)

Looks glorious - is that the unpronounceable Erigerons round it?

4 Jun, 2010

Certainly are - they get everywhere, they have to be in the photo, you see! LOL.

Glad you approve....:-)))

6 Jun, 2010

7 Jun, 2010

Beautiful :-))

7 Jun, 2010

Thanks, Anne.

'Strawberry Candy'...sob, sob ...:-(((

7 Jun, 2010

At least that one is still available - a lot aren't! I'm not going to replace Georgia, she's not tough enough for the top of my hill.

7 Jun, 2010

So what happened to 'Strawberry Candy'?? The leaves started to go brown, until it just ...errr...died. I want to know why that one, while the others in the same area are doing so well! What did Georgia do?

7 Jun, 2010

Decided she preferred a warmer climate!!!

7 Jun, 2010

Did she get brown leaves from the outside in, or just curl up and die? I think I need to ask Vicky, but she hasn't been around because of the shows. I just HATE losing a plant when I don't know why! Don't you?

8 Jun, 2010

The leaves died from the outside in - the centre seemed firm but no new leaves formed in the spring. I think it was just TOO cold here for her. I thought I was going to lose Caramel as well but a new plantlet grew from the rootstock to one side of the previous year's clump.

8 Jun, 2010

I rescued another one that was looking poorly - I potted it up, cut all the dead leaves off and it came back fine. It's in the garden now. :-)

8 Jun, 2010

My other heucheras are fine - it's the penstemons that got decimated, just too depressing. I'm only going to get really narrow leaved ones from now on. Garnet, of course is fine, that's tough as old boots. Minibird Lavender is ok too.

8 Jun, 2010

Agreed - I lost several of those beautiful dark new ones in the island bed. The P. elgar ones came through totally unscathed, though. I read somewhere that small-leaved Penstemons are hardier than the others. It's true!!!

9 Jun, 2010

I've just the one Elgar and that too is unscathed so that will be my future route. Have you replaced the ones in the island bed? ...or are you going for something new? By the time you read this I expect your New Zealand visitors will have left - well satisfied with all they've seen - hope it all went very well - and dry!!!

9 Jun, 2010

Yes - I planted two more 'Eleanor Young'...the P.elgar ones are starting to flower already! I took some cuttings from the last year, and sold them all.... :-)))

Yes - we were really lucky with the weather - it turned to sunshine about the time they all came - including two very apologetic ladies who had been at the stately home visit and followed the convoy here. LOL. So with two neighbours unable to come on the Thursdays, we had 44 visitors today. :-))) Lots of nice comments....guess who had fun and attention!

9 Jun, 2010

.....Not HENRY????????

9 Jun, 2010

How did you guess? LOL.

9 Jun, 2010

LOL

10 Jun, 2010

He's flaked out on the floor again, Wagger...too much cake, I'd guess, plus meeting and greeting everyone! LOL.

10 Jun, 2010

He's an asset to the garden with all his kind PR work!!!

11 Jun, 2010

He is - I'm thinking of charging extra for an 'audience with Henry' next year! LOL.

11 Jun, 2010

Brilliant idea!!! ....and I'm sure a lot of people would be glad to pay it for charity.

11 Jun, 2010

You reckon? He likes to go and greet EVERYbody, so that plan wouldn't work, unfortunately. :-((
