Visit by Our Robin

Beautiful bird, but certainly different to the the British one.

Thank you. I was pleased to finally get a shot....lol. They are much larger a bird, part of the Jay size birds, maybe even that family. They are the harbinger of full spring, always appeared around easter growing up, here, always with the grass sprouts.

Goodness, Iooking at this I finally understand the different-ness of the robin in the Mary Poppins film. Better late than never!!

Now you mention it, seems a bit smug to throw an american robin into a film in London, like no one would notice....! :-) I didn't realize until GOY there was an adorable little robin that was so different from this.

that was what I was thinking, but it felt far too rude to say it! No seriously, money talks, and the film must have been made more for the American market than UK do you think? In any case, much as I love Dick van Dyke, his accent in that film was far more upsetting than an incorrect robin!
I should get over it all now, you've helped me achieve closure, lol. x

I remember seeing these in Canada.

We call them robin redbreast. They are all across the northwestern hemisphere. I love them.
