Red Dogwood - April 2008

This little Dogwood is only 4 feet tall. Four years ago a friend gave me a few perennials form her garden and along with one of them came a little seedilg from her Dogwood. It bloomed for the first time last year and it only had three flowers. This year I have thirteen.

The flowers do have a soft scent Chezs. The most fragrant are the white ones. Because the flowers come before the leaves, large mature Dogwoods are quite spectacular when they bloom.
