I'm guessing it's on your 'to do' list for this year then ? This will be my ponds first Spring and if frogs don't find it, I'll be scrounging some spawn from a friends BIG pond down the road. :-)

Well, I have been thinking about it muddy! I have a good spot for one but it would mean uprooting a young morello cherry tree. Trouble is they are quite hard work ponds aren't they and the pondweed......euch!

I love the way you have arranged this water feature.

Beautiful water feature, yes you'll need a pond in your new garden!

You, Hubby and frogspawn in the hot tub - not a good mix !!! ..lol.... :-)

that is a lovely water feature ~ can i be cheeky and ask you to post a photo of the whole feature ~ so i can see what the water goes into? is it easy to install?

Bless you Sticki!! It's just an ordinary pond with an improvised urn stuck on the edge with a hose through it! The urn was actually a wedding present from us to a young couple and it wasn't to their taste so I took it back and used it as a pond feature!

dont blame you ~ their loss i think!!
they dont have any in the garden centres now it seems. i have a garden surrounded by trees so i cant have much water but i do love it
have to make do with looking at pictures for now i think
22 Oct, 2010
Yes, I'm in the same position Sticki! I have no pond at all here!

where do you like to visit? i find i love places with water ~ its true what they say about it being therapeutic
i like the scottish western isles ~ Harris, Lewis, Iona, Muck etc with their pure air and clean crashing waves
i also love the lake district and the italian lakes
22 Oct, 2010
Yes sticki.....water and mountains for me too!! I've never been to the western Isles, apart from Skye which is absolutely stunning of course! Lake Garda...absolutely incredible and visits to the Lake District in my childhood really opened my eyes and heart to the beauty of nature. Coming from Lincs....where it is very flat and the nearest thing to a lake is the dyke in the field! Now I live on the coast and the beach is only a 15 min. walk away....and that is incredibly therapeutic!

Lake Garda is where i have been and lago di tenno just above it is stunning! i liked limone best ~ seems like a garden village! lemons and bourganvillia[?] everywhere.
my mum lives in devon so i get to see the sea when i visit her ~ cant take my eyes ~ or camera ~ off the waves!
24 Oct, 2010
yes, Limone is very special...and so is the liqueur, but only when drunk in Italy in the sunshine!!
24 Oct, 2010
ah yes i agree. altho it doesnt hurt to try some here. they have a fantastic ice cream there with lemons in it

Thanks Alan. This is a long time ago, and two homes back now! I am now posting under the account name 'CottageKaren'. I loved that garden, it was small, but it was interesting and it faced West, so plenty of warmth. It's so lovely when yo get an established garden..and we lived there for 18 years, so I had plenty of time to get it how I wanted to, and learn lots about plants too!

Looks like a lovely place. And a wonderful water feature. Isn't there some greek mythology that the water is everflowing from the urn of some god/dess or other. :-) I love this image.
