Can-Can!

Can-Can!

For TT :)
My 7 watering cans, lined up in the rain! The large red one is the Hawes which didn't last long before it broke (handle & spout). The dark green one is also a Hawes but I can't seem to find a decent rose to fit it that lets out water slowly. I would be interested to hear which cans other GoYers find best, particularly for watering seedlings, without drowning them. The small metal can does a fine spray out of the top of the rose but dribbles terribly from the bottom :(

good selction there Gee, its hard to find one for seedlings, i could kick myself as last year at horticultural show a man was selling these very small rose fittings which you put into a plastic pop bottle which were for seedlings with a very fine spray,, i looked and went back and looked but silly me decided not to buy them, grrr since ive thought "wish i had got them rose fittings" maybe at this years show i will see them again :o)

Have you looked on ebay, Sandbaz? I noticed the other day they had something called a Bottle Top Waterer and Harrods Horticulture do them as well, 4 caps for something like £3.

I will be interested to see how well they work if you are buying one, Sanbaz. I will let you be the 'guinea pig' :)

Just been back to check out your blue one, Amy. I have seen those on ebay and other sites so I will investigate that. Thanks!

Well, TT, the things you get me doing! I have just checked out the miniature watering can and it can hold water but doesn't pour, so perfect for a 'make believe' garden :)

ive ordered one Gee, could have got them on harrods horticultural but almost £5 postage so not paying that , will let you know how they work ;o)

They are a faff, I agree Gee....mine are just the same. When my seedlings are really small I spray them with a water spray, then when they're bigger I pop the trays in water for half an hour......it seems to work better than drowning with the drips from the can.

Thanks, Janey, I think I've got a water spray somewhere - I will look it out :)
