Chamaedorea adscendens - Velvet Palm and Chamaedorea metallica - Metallic Palm

Chamaedorea adscendens - Velvet Palm and Chamaedorea metallica - Metallic Palm (Chamaedorea adscendens - Velvet Palm and Chamaedorea metallica - Metallic Palm)

I've had these two palm for many years. Velvet palm is a painfully slow growing palm...which has gorgeous velvelty fronds. Metallic Palm grows very slowly also...and has a bluish-green-silver metallic shiny frond. They are great understory palms for very shady to almost dark areas. Photo taken at Rancho Soledad on Jan. 14, 2010.

Drc726:

They do look very healthy in this very large greenhouse. They may even look better in the ground here in a shaded area.
