I get the feeling from looking at your pictures that you will suffer from 'ever shrinking lawn syndrome' - no known cure!

pmsl! Wagger is spot on! Still the builders left us with a pretty poor excuse for a lawn as the soil is so compacted! Last year my hubby had to hire a pneumatic drill to dig out three new beds for me!! so....no great loss there!

thanks! it doesn't look like this any more! half the grass has gone! it looks much smaller now in a way, but a lot more interesting I think!

Thanks Wh. I removed some very large geranium magnificum today, and added a carpet rose in their place. It looks a little better, but I will have to remove more. Magnificum is far too big for my garden, which is a pity as it is so beautiful!
