Thanks Amy - quite weird arent they. You have to keep removing the straight stems/suckers from the bottom though.

They dont get that big Morgana - I would have thought it would be OK in a big pot in John Innes.
Thanks Sandra.

I love these but always thought they grew very large. Will have to do a bit of research. Great photo, Dawn.

Thanks, Dawn and Louise, I think this is definitely on the 'I want' list!!

I think its nice that they stay small, dont you Louise. I think they're great, you just had to keep cutting out the straight shoots at the bottom and your fine, dont you agree Louise.

Lovely picture nice capture, had this plant, just did not like the leaves , looks fab without them, used to prune it to keep it small.

26 Nov, 2009

I agree, they are nicer without the leaves, they kind of drown the plant, dont they.

26 Nov, 2009

Yes that is so right, well put.

26 Nov, 2009

Oh Holly, your poor curly willow - what a shame it suffered the storms.
Sandra - I agree - the willows are like giant dog woods, so pretty at this time of year.
