This is a photo of my balcony taken from the side. Here you can appreciate the different tiers of planting.

I took this picture on October 12th 2009

Thank you all .

Bernieh: Thank you for your great comments.

TT: Actually most years I give very little thought to my balcony & to planning - even less!!! Work, on the other hand, yes!

PP: It is a bit of a job but it not something that gets me down or bores me or I wish I didn't have to do. No, I don't mind at all doing the watering. I have 2lt mineral water bottles that I've been using for about 5 years now. I use them for watering the pots every day & then fill them up for the next day.

Thanks Milky. So pleased that you like it. Seen from the side you can appreciate much more how the balcony is laid out. On the other hand you still can't see the pots on the floor of the balcony.

Yes, it is MP! Thanks for your comment. As we are forecast a warm week ahead it will easily last into November! Many of the plants are now beginning to look a little yellowish. They probably accuse the shorter day length & the cooler nights.

Yes, I hope it DOES warm up a bit! Its been miserable up here! :~(

Your wish has become true - at least down here in England! I see from the BBC weather forecast that you have had clearer skies of late. Hope they continue. Here we have seen little sun for the last couple of days. It's unseasonably warm with the winds coming up from the South. By the time they reach you they will have lost some of their warmth so you won't be getting 15ÂșC up there!!!

Its tanked down all day!! I got soaked to the skin 6 times today. :~((
By the time I got home tonight I was nearly in tears, I was so cold!

6 times!!! Once or twice would be fairly common - but 6 times!!! I've never got soaked more than a couple of times & I doubt I've even been soaked like that more than a few times - certainly not in the same day!!! How did you manage that? I hope you haven't suffered any ill consequences as a result of your soakings!

We have had a little rain over the last couple of days but hardly enough to do little more than wet the ground. Today it rained this morning but it wasn't heavy rain though it started around 7am just as I was getting up & continued for a couple of hours before stopping.

Get out your waterproofs (or stay indoors!) as tomorrow all of the UK is forecast to get a good soaking!
