Great Photo!

This is one of the most beautiful trees in the World! It is extremely difficult to grow outside the we tropics...probably impossible!

I've only seen these growing in my home Island of O' ahu, HI.

Was this photo taken in Hawaii at the Ho'omaluhia Gardens or Lyon Arboretum?

This photo was taken at the Lyon Arboretum, right after you walk through the large lawn area filled with mosquitos haha, its a large tree with awesome color considering its in shade most of the time, it was striking with the backdrop of the deep green rainforest!!!! i Love Oahu its my favorite ilsand in the chain, my family has a condo over there!!! i almost went to college at UH Manoa but decided to stay closer to home and do horticulture instead of soil science!!! but i do love walking through the arboretums in the rainforest, so peaceful and beautiful!!!

Yes, Lyon Aboretum is very beautiful and has an extensive collection of tropical rain forest plants and tress that are well-documented...and you're correct about the mosquitoes...I've never seen so many in my life!

I went to the Ho'omaluhia Gardens instead of Lyon Arboretum last month during my family reunion in Honolulu. It's one of my favorite botanical gardens...and it has about 1 or 2 less mosquitoes than Lyon. LOL!!!

It sounds like with a family condo in O' ahu...you can go and visit often.
