My New Arch

My New Arch

Well, I did it! After much nashing of teeth and the odd bad word, I finally managed to get the arch in place.

I've moved this over from Crazydi's arch blog (I didn't know where else to put it before taking a pic - sorry Di).

After a coffee it will be planted with the Generous Gardener on the left and Niobe on the right.

it looks lovely there

Thanks Irish. I had a bit of bother getting the holes prepared. I'd get one done then hit a brick with the second one. I had to keep moving it. It's slightly forward of where I originally wanted it but it's in and it's staying in!

It makes a lovely frame for the entrance to the rest of the garden.

Thanks Silverbelle. I didn't go for a seriously heavyweight one as it's standing about 3' in front of the conservatory window and I was worried in case it got caught by any strong wind. It's pretty secure - it had better be after the carry on getting it in! Here's hoping anyway.

Thanks Di, I'll keep you posted. I still need to give the clematis something more to cling on to but that's a job for the weekend. I've had a few days off but it's back to work tomorrow (for a seat!).

Thanks Wagger - I'm pleased you like it although I must say, it's come on in leaps and bounds since I discovered this forum. It just makes me want to get out there and do stuff.

Thanks Spritzhenry, I'd never have thought of putting in another arch if I hadn't joined this forum. I just have to get the boys organised now to water the new arrivals while we're on holiday!

I'm looking forward to a glorious show next year.

Hello Di, Ha ha! I can't get one in at that end, it would get whacked by the whirly - I did look though.

I haven't forgotten about it. I might go with the two cane test first. They weren't noticed the first time round! I need to do some work on that bed so it might just "appear" then.
