My Pleasure and (Obsession) Pride

I went for a walk this morning and saw how beautiful my garden looked after all my hard work sprucing, cutting, trimming and drinking coffee in it yesterday. I went back inside to find my camera and thought I would just send some to Growsonyou for everyone to view. I thought how lucky I am to live in such a beautiful spot, I know how much hard work goes into gardening but when the hard work is over and you have the time to stand and look – how good it makes you feel – hard work never hurt anyone as they say – I was tired last night after all my hard work but a good night’s sleep and this morning the pleasure was all mine.

I hope you all enjoy your gardens as much as I do mine – best wishes with your digging and sprucing.

I hope you enjoyed your walk around my garden, I did tell you it was an obsession (I hope there is NO cure) I blame Alan Titchmarsh and his band of merry men and women. Bless his cotton socks don’t you just love him, I do. always have done, now I am showing my age.

Yes I enjoyed the tour very much, you have beautiful garden and it's a nice kind of obsession to have. Since the good weather I have been up at all hours looking at my acheivements even up at 5 this morning, so peaceful.
Tired like you but happy
P.S Even ended up in neighbours garden doing bits for her when asked.

Lovely garden, very pretty:-), I'm doing the dreaded housework stuff too, well washing and ironing holiday clothes just came home early this morning, much rather be outside, can't believe how everythings grown while we've been away, even with no rain :-)

Glad you enjoyed it folks, the dog is real, nearly 13 years old and he doesn't move very fast these days his name is Scruffy, mainly because when we bought him all those years ago we said he would never be clean, how right we were, his name suits him very much.

Simbad hope you had a good holiday - yes everything still grows, we getting a very very light shower at the moment in our part of Lincolnshire how is it with you?

Hello OliveOil, havent seen you for a while. Your garden is beautiful and all your hard work is worthwhile, so Hello. Its always good to have a walk around after a good day's work to see the progress.

Simbad: Nice to see you back!

It certainly does take over thanks for the message, Hi Dawnsaunt, been busy, as you say it is good to walk and take in the surroundings after the hard work.
Its raining at the moment, first we have had in a long long while. It will do good, especially in the vegetable patch, which was desperate for a good rain. It doesn't matter how much we water, no substitute for rain water :o)

Raining here too Oliveoil, talking to Karensusan a while ago, think you are actually in the same town in Lincolnshire as me :-)
Had a great holiday thanks, first without our two daughters, they're going with friends this year, strange on our own but quite nice, went to Tenerife, they even remembered to water all my plants, no casualties :-)
Thanks Dawn :-)

I like 8, 18 and 21 the best Mum! Lovely blog....did you think our Alan was looking a bit thin on the telly? I don't know if it is just the superbly cut suit, or if he has gone a bit.....erm.....don't quite now how to put it.....'over produced'!! Chris Beardshaw looking a bit the same....too much spray tan perhaps? Still lovely though, both of them, and Carol too...she's my fave woman presenter! X

Bloomer, - it is good to hear from all my gardening friends, Housework is a real chore I hate it, pity it has to be done. whereabouts in Yorkshire do you live? I was born in Yorkshire and when I moved to Lincolnshire I really missed it, I think it took me quite a few years to settle down here, I get great pleasure from going back to Yorkshire and seeing the beautiful places in the best county in the country. Don't get up too early LOL :o)

I live in Huddersfield,Oliveoil, and oddly enough, our best friends retired to Mablethorpe,5 years ago.I love Yorkshire too,as I love the hills and scenery. Its very nice when we go to visit, and they love it there, but I must admit,I get excited going over a speedhump on the journey,as we aren't used to flat countryside, although there are some lovely places to visit..

Bloomer, I used to go to college in Barnsley, (many many many years ago) the youngest daughter has a boyfriend who lives near Wakefield so I do get a ride out that way occasionally, I know it is so flat, but the Lincolnshire wolds are very pretty, and strangely enough where I live is on top of a hillside, but I must agree it is pretty boring riding around Lincolnshire very flat. You must drive past my house on your way to Mablethorpe if you come over the Trent Bridge in Gainsborough. Think my youngest may move into Yorkshire when she has finished her course in about 15 months time. I shall get to see more of it I suppose if she does. Great to hear from you, keep posting the photos and hope you enjoy the garden this summer, I am sure it is going to be a good one for us all. fingers crossed xxxxx lol:o)

We haven't been that way,as we go on the M62,and turn off on the M18,and past Humberside Airport .I had to ask Russell,as I didn't think Gainsborough rang a bell.We are trying Doncaster Airport out later this year,as the flight times are better for us,than Manchester, this time...and cheaper.!!
We haven't been to Barnsley for a while, but I used to enjoy going to the market there. Its always been very good.Enjoy your garden too,Oliveoil, its lovely..:o)).
