second orangutan

i was so chuffed with my last orangutan that i decided to draw another.i have drawn more of these than any other type or species. i think they mite be my thing.id like to give more to there charity as they like many animals are suffering.i just get drawn to them.excuse the pun . i used to like elephants the most and maybe i still do.dont get me wrong i love most animals or at least respect them.the more i have to do with orangs the closer i feal to them.there was nothing like looking into rajang at colchester zoos orangs eyes and poking tongues out at each other .he even picked up a stick when he sore i had one. anyway this youngster isnt finished yet but it is taking shape nicley.ive just got to do the importent bit ie the fine detail but if you squint your eyes you get an idea.i hope your all ok take care bye for now

the last pictures are what i will possibly be drawing next but i havnt made my mind up yet.

Another beautiful painting NP:)) Their faces are so full of expression, you can't help but be 'drawn' to them. That's maybe why we feel such empathy for them .
You have captured his eyes wonderfully,I look forward to seeing him finished :)

Great painting coming on there NP...orangs really lend themselves to being painted with their big eyes & open faces. Look forward to the end result.

Yes you have captured the thoughtful kindness in the eyes...I am so happy that you are doing these...the ones that you are thinking of for next intrigue me as well..the one with the screwed up face is adorable and the parent or relative and child..oh..so loving they are together..what fine subjects..

yes im good thanx amy im glad my artwork went to such a loving home .couldn`t of gone anywear better.ill probably draw all the other ones.i think the one pulling a face would be good next i realy like that.ive only got to go and get my picture back from colchester zoo that i did of rajang for charity and his 4oth birthday .i bet hes getting on for 42 now.unbelievable .the highest bid they got was £70 and i got that bid.i said i wanted at least £150 as the frame does cost a little and not being big headed i took a lot of time,my passion i guess studying them all my life and the time it took setting it up,drawing it etc . silly me when i sore it cost £6000 a day to feed them id help in the way i know how.unbelievable i could of and am going to get him back and do my own charity thing.its quite obvious my face or tattoos didnt fit.unreal i thaught i was about saving animals so it should be irelivent.you just cant help some people.any news if you want to call it that ive virtualy had to beg for.some people are unbelievable sometimes.

the eyes took me ages they are the window to your soul

If you look into the candle of your eye or some one elses eye, and get the light so it hits the candle, go very very close to the candle you will see at the back of your eye, you should see light and little orbs moving about also there will be lines like eye lashes, as my mum got older her light turned to a hazey blue hue, no lines either lines like eye lashes. These little orbs are floating about your body as I have had a camera inside of me in colour and they look colourless, inside its like clouds of pink in different shades.

wow i did ask to look at the optition and sore inside my eye as thet do and realised wear the optic nerve joins the back of your eye isnt in the middle like youd expect its towards the middle close to your nose .sounds interesting with the candle.what ever made you think of that ?

4 Oct, 2009

lol Nosey potter I nursed my mother for 30 yrs through operation after operation, so you get more curious about things, I just wanted to know what the optition saw, when looking in our eyes as they can tell your state of health, I had read of the candle in the eye when that goes your dead, so I looked first in one of my childrens eye to look, as I had nt got a little torch, I asked them to turn there head until the light hit the candle, that is what I discovered by looking. The eyes are the only thing too which has not got defence against infection, your nose and mouth has protection , so any thing can get into your body through your tear ducts as they are not protected.

i used to work in an abbatoir killing pigs and you could see when they actualy died .as you say the candle went out.i hope your children and mum kept there fringes ok lol .you can tell a lot bye looking at eyes like you say health, lyes and obviously being upset .i probably look real up close and personal doing portraits of pets or people than anyone else has as im only about 8" away for like 30 hours.the only reasen i drew jerry myt springer is he wasnt my dog at the time.get this the woman whos dog it was left the picture of her daughter asleep with her teddy bear and took the picture of jerry.yet i asked her about swapping for obvious reasens but just to spite her face i guess she left me a picture i didnt want for one she didnt want.its a mad world.the reasen i dont draw them is i started to draw one of my fave dogs a st burnard x sharpei already upset .he only went and died right near the drawing board .he was 9 and fit as a fiddle .he got twisted gut.i coverd it over nearly went to the doctors as i was crying uncontrolably for well over a week.my mum ended up taking it of and putting it away safe to do when i felt up to it.about a year later considering my whole downstairs is ceramic tiles his mum died touching the same tile of the same thing.anyway a couple of years went bye untill i felt capable of drawing him.when i found it some heavy furniture or books had bean moved onto it ruining it.so i guess some things belong as memories and photos and thats why i dont draw my own dogs.i do like pigs bye the way im just a realist and if you eat meat then someones got to do it.i gave them great respect and even stroked them before they were slayn.im nosey bye nature hence the name and i would of done the same.many a time ive noticed little permanent marks or little moles or changes of colour that the owner never ever noticed.

You were right to leave it a bit and then come back later, and you are also right about slaying the pigs some one has to do it, if they were not slaughter for meat then most of the animal farming would be slaughtered any way as they would take over and and take up food from from the fields which we would need to grow the crops for ourselves. eg like the rabbits in Austrailia are culled to keep them ruining the land.

Oh Nosey..what a precious thing..his mum and him went off together..he came for her there..and when it was time she went with him..very sweet..When my David passed..I believe his mum came for him...he looked over my shoulder and as clear as a bell..said "why?" There was no one behind me Nosey...he had such a sound in his voice like a child and then as if he understood..his face changed...he waved me over to him..gave me a hug and said "I love you". he then lay down so peacefully ..did not pass right then but it was within an hour..I knew something was happening..everyone else left the room thinking he was sleeping..I stayed ...it was soon clear that he was passing, I called a nurse in and then called the family to come back..he left very peacefully..and I have been forever grateful that we got to tell each other our I love you's out loud.. :) Your Jerry and his mum are happily together..you should draw them that way...love -n- hugs..~Cat

Lovely painting Leigh! I think the photo of the cheeky one's cute, but I LOVED the second one!
I took my wee brother to Edinburgh Zoo when he was 3, & they had an Orang called George. When he saw George, he started jumping up & down, shouting "Look, there's my daddy!" I STILL wont let Dad live it down! :~))
