Does Tansy really deter mice? Or minty walls?

I’ve got mice!!
I’ve spent today ripping out the rest of the kitchen (nearly there, one wall unit to go) and there are mouse droppings behind the base units!
Not too nice!
I don’t want to kill them, but I don’t particularly want them in the house either. I remember reading somewhere that they can’t stand the smell of tansy, & aren’t fond of mint either.
Does anyone know if this is true?
Either way, I just spent ten minutes stuffing mint into the (large) gaps between the walls & floors. Should be interesting for the kitchen fitters on thursday!!
There was me being good & getting on with TRYING to find storage space for everything, & NOT playing at gardening, though I did pop out & put up my prayer flags & water the plants.
I now have half of my living room in the garden, kitchen units & worktops in the living room, & my bedroom & shed full of all sorts of kitchen & craft paraphernalia! Can’t get into the shed now! I had to empty my wardrobe too, as the fuse box is in there, so I’ll be sleeping on the couch! I feel like I’m back in bedsit land!
The birds are happy though! I threw out some rice cakes & a box of crackers for them & they were everywhere! A little camera shy, except for one wee boy who was a total poseur!

Good, she’s put the nuts out. Hmm, honey roasted this time! But what’s down there? Ah, crackers!

Come on then girls, I’ll take you to lunch!

The girls are shy, but I’ll pose for you, this is my best side.

No, I dont want to turn round, THIS is my best side!

Cheeky little blighter!

Anyway, once I’d got the majority of the kitchen shifted, I went to a neighbour to borrow his ladder to paint the shed roof. No, Im not losing it, it’s leaking, & I’ve bought bituminous paint to seal it!
Of couse, it starts to rain the minute I walked into the garden with the ladder! Ah, well, not really into heights anyway!!

You know something, your username suits you ! Kitchen in the lounge or was it bedroom in the shed? lounge up the fireplace? I'm totally confused now!! Lol Any way all you've got to concentrate on is the fact it will all be over soon and you'll get all your rooms back. Nice photos though.
Good luck with the shed painting and be careful!!!

You just sent my 250th message to my inbox! For this you have won..............Sod all, I'm Scottish!
You're confused? Someone knocked on my kitchen door & I couldn't work out where to go to answer it!!
Pity I dont have a better camera, couldn't get any closer without scaring them away!
Don't worry, I'm super careful with heights, I hate them! as for the username, I considered Edinbugger, but nah!

Hi Hywel! They're getting quite tame now. If I'm in the garden, they dont worry about me, but if I walk out of the house they fly away, so I had to take the pics from the kitchen! apparently they'll take 2 weeks to do the kitchen.Pathetic!!

It never stops Lincslass! When the main work's done, the house needs painting, I've got jewellery to make & then I'll need to get started on the Xmas cards! Not to mention finding new recipes for chocs & improving on them. Plus a few friends are breeding, so I'll be making stuff for the babies!
Then of course, I'll need to waste SOME time on work (paid and voluntary) & I hope to start back at Uni soon!
As you can tell, I lead a very quiet sedentary life (!!!!!????)
yep, I need to get rid, but it's against my beliefs to kill them. Smudge doesn't share my views though!!
;~))

It's west facing, would that be any use?

Ooooh, yes! Great direction! Seedling heaven!

I hate ladders - I can't get more than two rungs up...

Mind you, the window's only about 18" square! I'll have to get a mini greenhouse to put at the side!
