A couple of weeks ago i bought a new bed for the cats, i guessed Maddie would take to it first because out of my two nervous cats, she’s the least nervy.
A few days ago i watched Millie go up to it to investigate but was too timid to go inside, however …. two days ago i saw her shoot out of it when i came into the room so i knew she was interested and now that it smelt nicely of her very best friend in the world she must have thought it safe enough to be in !!!
So here is my little Millie cat – in Maddies nest !!!
She’s pure black so don’t expect to see much inside that tunnel !!!

Isn’t that so sweet ? !!!
I’ll be going back to the garden centre tomorrow to buy another one
:-)))

Lol Louise! I was just going to say you'll have to buy another one! But knowing cats, they will probably both go into the same one together (after you've bought the other one of course!) I was going to get one but we don't have a Wyevales here and don't seem to have them online. :<((

Ahhhh x

Its lovely. Bless her :o))

26 Nov, 2009

Skillen it probably right ours always cuddled up together regardless of having their own beds.
Great pictures Louise.

Does'nt she look lovely....its not often we get see our shy little Millie:)

26 Nov, 2009

You're 'so' right Alice but here she is :-))))
After that last picture she scarpered, she doesn't like to be stared at, even less by a black ugly (to her, not me!) camera pointing at her !

26 Nov, 2009

What beautiful pics of your timid puss-cat! She is just gorgeous.
You can bet they both eventually "claim" that "nest"....as Skillen says - once you have bought another one..of course!!

26 Nov, 2009

Thank you Alz, she's such a sweet little thing, it's a pity she's so nervy .... after all these years too, hey ho :-/
She has a happy and spoilt little life though, so is content in her own little way !

26 Nov, 2009

Millie is beautiful :o)

26 Nov, 2009

Thank you Hywel :-))))))
She's half the size of Maddie who's a plumptious white cat, Millie is like a petite gymnast by comparison ;-))
She'd be scared stiff of Blodyn (or anyone elses cat) because she's a real scaredy-cat !

26 Nov, 2009

That's a shame, but Blodyn isn't very keen on other cats. She chases them away lol. I'm wondering if she'd use a nest like your cats. I might get one if I knew she would.

26 Nov, 2009

I'm glad she decided to try it - now you know she'll like one of her own! I thought you'd have to go and get another one. :-)))

26 Nov, 2009

I'll go there tomorrow Spritz, one of my flying visits on the way to work !

26 Nov, 2009

Louise she is gorgeous did she go back in?

26 Nov, 2009

She must feel so secure in the lovely bed :-)

26 Nov, 2009

Not susprised Milly likes it, she will fel all snug and safe in there!

26 Nov, 2009

lovely pictures :) so where was Maddie when Millie took over the nest LOL

27 Nov, 2009

Mavis, yes she did ! She hops in there all the time now ! Maddie goes to get in, sees Millie in there and has to find somewhere else to snooze .... awww :-(

Grindle, Maddie snoozes on a kitchen chair that's close to a radiator ... she'll stay there for hours, or, she'll be on my bed ;-)

Thanks Dawn and Pp, it 'is' a lovely snug bed :-))))

27 Nov, 2009

Cute :o)

27 Nov, 2009

Good one Louise, love the bed our Wyevales didn't have any in when I last look, not that I think Stripes would sleep in it,he loves to stretch out.:-)))))))))))

27 Nov, 2009

It seems that it's only the Wyevales who have a Pampurred Pets concession in them, if they don't i think you'd have to find a Pampurred Pets actual store.

I went in today to get the second bed and .... let's just say they'd changed the price. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
I still bought it but i'm not amused by the increase and i'll be emailing the concessions head office and letting them know what i think of that kind of practice.

27 Nov, 2009

Hi louise, are both the cats using the beds yet?

28 Nov, 2009

Skillen, they are :-)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

Millie's taken over Maddies first/original nest and has really taken to it, i think she feels very safe and cosy in there because she's in it all the time !

The one i bought for Maddie on Wednesday is now her own - no more disappointed faces when one sees the other's already got there ;-))

Two very happy pusscats :-)))))
=^..^=

29 Nov, 2009

Sharp practice indeed Louise....but they will be hoping that nobody in the stampede up to Xmas will notice!! You tell 'em....I would give them laldy if it is a big difference Louise.....that really is not on.

29 Nov, 2009

It was a very big difference Alz and i'm still composing the letter !
I want to make sure i get my point across strongly but dignified.

I always contact a manufacturer/company if i feel that something's not right .... after all, it's the principle of the thing. Grrrrr.

I did it recently with a box of Harpic Power tablets !!!
The goods i bought were 'very' substandard and the outcome was that the retailer was selling 'very' old stock (not been stock rotated) and i was sent vouchers to the value of two boxes by the manufacturers - which was a bonus !
The principle of the matter is everything.

29 Nov, 2009

Have you plugged in the item to good old Google, Louise ...to get the RRP?
That way you have all the facts at your fingertips when you write. THEN you can quote the inflated pride and ask why that particular seller is getting away with it!!
Good luck....being an Aberdonian ....I hate being taken for a sucker !!

29 Nov, 2009

Thanks Alz, got all that info at my fingertips !

I too have that same pet hate ;-)

29 Nov, 2009

Aww bless! - I'm pleased about that Louise. Let me know how you get on with Wyvales.

29 Nov, 2009

I emailed them earlier on and the damn thing got bounced back to me, grrrrrrr.
WHY does that happen ?????
Okay it's not a weekday but emails don't have a '5 day week' system, do they ;-)

(To be accurate, i emailed the concession 'within' Wyevale (Pampurred Pets) as that's who the 'contract' is with)

29 Nov, 2009

Must be the wrong email address or it wouldn't bounce back. Why don't you phone Wyvales and ask to speak to the manager? The pampurred pets website is a bit strange don't you think? You would think they would make more profit selling direct to the public.

29 Nov, 2009

What a cheek, Louise! I reckon Skillen's right - but take it up with BOTH of them - this is new to Wyevale, and it's in their premises - so the manager should know! It could put potential Wyevale customers off.

29 Nov, 2009

Well !

I sent the email again - this time with the correct spelling on the address ;-)

I had a very curt reply telling me that the first bed i bought had been put through the till wrongly and the second (dearer) price was the correct one.

The regional manager was very short and abrupt in her reply and had barely a pleasant word to say, so ...... i won't be going back to Pampurred Pets again with my (generous) business.

A pleasant reply would have been nice and would have mellowed my mood a little ......

30 Nov, 2009

Hi Louise - was the said rude regional manager correct about the RRP do you think - or was that just a cover up story!!!!!
As they say - courtesy costs nothing - and would have taken the sting out of the situation. They deserve to lose business if they treat their customers like that...glad we don't have one of those here!!! I'll stick to my local little pet-shop..whose owner I have known all his life....he wouldn't DARE treat me like that....LOL

30 Nov, 2009

I've looked online at another place selling them and they're cheaper than Pampurred Pets so i guess the RRP's only a guide and the retailers can sell at whatever number they want, grrrr.

I'll not be using Pampurred Pets again.

I too will carry on using the independent who's in the same town.

30 Nov, 2009

I take it the curt reply was from Pampurred Pets Louise?

30 Nov, 2009

Yes, it was Skillen.
I didn't speak with Wyevale because i know they'll accept little responsibility for the concession that's within their store.

30 Nov, 2009

I would still speak to Wyvale, they must decide on the price as it's being sold through their tills. They'll buy a batch from pp's and at the end of the day it's up to them what they charge and they are reponsible. I would imagine such a large well known outlet would be a bit more careful how they spoke to customers. Just ask them to explain why there was such a large price difference, not forgetting to mention what an EXCELLENT customer you are and that you have 5dogs, 7cats, 3snakes and a budgie! :~))

30 Nov, 2009

Skillen, that Pampurred Pets concession does all its business through their own tills in their own shop.
It's under the roof of Wyevale but that's the only way the two businesses are connected.

I just know that the main till area of the garden centre will say see PPs.
When i rang the garden centre to ask for PPs phone number they made it very clear that the concession was a completely separate entity.

You can't use your Gardening Club card in PPs either which is a b***er because when the garden centre sold pet things themselves you could - which was a big help .... points make prizes ;-)))

30 Nov, 2009

I'm with Skillen on this Louise.....speak to Wyvale definitely. After all the advice always is to speak to the "point of sale"....so that is what I would definitely do.
But ask to speak to a customer sales rep.....not just the check out operative....and if all else fails - ask to speak to the manager!! Good luck - like you say - it is the principal that is at stake.

30 Nov, 2009

I wondered why Wyvales didn't have pet stuff on their website - that explains it.:~((. We'll just have to avoid Pampurred Pets then!

30 Nov, 2009

Thank goodness they are confined to the SW of England and Wales...all 45 stores.....and haven't ventured north of Hadrian's Wall!!!!!! LOL

30 Nov, 2009

Well i'll certainly be avoiding them, they'll have none of 'my' hard earned money.

30 Nov, 2009

Never mind Louise, you have two lovely happy cats, and you have voiced your displeasure. Businesses with this sort of ethos won't last long in todays economic climate:-)
