I Love Starting The Day Like This....

Many gardens this time of year are like mine, drab and seemingly dead. Over night it was transformed into a world of great fragile beauty…..

I say fragile beauty because nature’s crystal quickly shatters when the morning sun hammers it and it all comes down in a brilliant sunlit blizzard.

"Now that's magic!", as a stage magician used to say. Do love seeing snow when I am warm inside the house!

Such beauty here and I love the words you used at the end - lovely prose. :-)

Within 48 hours from now Lincs the temperature will reach 71F (21.6C). At present I am removing the netting from the ponds and giving the water pumps a cleaning and check before starting them though the water is still cold which causes the tubing to be rather stiff. If I don’t remove the netting now I will see many frogs bouncing on top of them like acrobats on a trampoline. Cottagekarer that morning after the snow had the bluest sky I have ever seen from sea level. You can see in the photos the snow mirroring that color. The warm temperatures will be sustaining for the rest of the week so enough winter rest....spring cleanup begins.

Oh now you are making me envious L'strife, I chuckled reading about the frogs, the silly creatures do that in my garden as well, very comical to watch but I have to guide them through very quickly in case the dogs or the cat spots them first, I found some frogspawn in my bottom pond two weeks back, then we had a number of days whereby we had very hard frosts and the bottom pond iced right over, I think they wasted their energy....I'm waiting for warmer days to clear out my dead leaves on the water Iris, I keep looking, hoping the other plants in the same basket don't shoot before I get them done, it makes the job harder if that happens as you probably already know.

It's stunning isn't it and the good thing about snow is my garden looks just as tidy as everyone else's!
