A First!

This is the first photo I have ever taken of a Humming Bird. They are so darn fast and there is a Humming Bird battle going on in my garden over their favorite energy drink to be gotten from my Lobelia cardinalis which is now in full bloom. Included are a couple of other photos from the garden.

Finally, here is a photo of a pile of weeds that I pulled up…

Oh, and a couple of long shots as best as I can do…

Hello Loosestrife - how amazing to have Humming birds in your garden - I pretty much only get finches and blackbirds - your garden is very colourful and I love the pile of weeds shows how productive you have been - wishing you a good weekend - Jane

I doubt I'd be good enough with my camera to catch a bird that moves as fast as they do, so well done, your garden is looking very colourful L'strife and I can match your little pile of weeds, my basket was full so I carried on weeding and then forgot to go back for them after I'd emptied my basket, only spotted them when I was thinking about my watering, got to pick them up before my dogs scatter them....

And that's what I will now name it Dianebully, "The Hywell Garden". I will go to the crafts store and make a nice sign for it.

Its a lovely garden, tidy and relaxed at the same time, and so colourful. Thank you for the hummingbird - must be great to have them around!

Beautiful garden, Loosestrife! Don't worry too much about the hummingbird photo--above average for a first try, and experienced photographers still swear at the speedy critters! :)

Thanks Tug! In reading your profile I see you enjoy planting in containers and also consider that gardening. I recently had a discussion with a member or two who did not consider that gardening and gave them my point of view that it was.

Good, Loosestrife! If nothing else, it may soon be the only kind of gardening available to those living in cities--the majority in the developed and developing world!

Heaven preserve us from that though!
