I'm back

Hey everybody, I’m back. Sorry haven’t been on site for a long time but family problems have kept me occupied. My poor garden hasn’t seen much of me either. I have seen more of the local hospital lately than my neglected garden. It wasn’t me though, I am fine just everybody else. Recently I spent most of a week in hospital with family members. My mother, husband and grandson were all admitted in the space of four days. They are all fine now though.

Well hope you all are buzy getting ready for a better summer this year (think possitive). My garden seems to think spring is here but after last year’s late snow I am anxiously watching the progress of my fruit trees. I have fleece blankets on standby so I don’t loose all my peaches this year. Last year’s potatoes in containers were an astounding success so have bought the seed potatoes ready to start again. At the end of the autumn I sowed some carrots in a tub which have survived the winter and are growing nicely. This year I plan to grow lots more veggies in containers providing those pesky slugs let me. Last autumn saw me collecting loads of seeds from family gardens so I have loads of experiments to try. I even collected wisteria seeds from my plant. The problem is that my mini greenhouse and my windowsills are full and it will soon be time to pot on. I have loads of dahlia seedlings, and all the wisteria seeds have germinated. Lucky I only planted five of them. Left the tomato plants till later this year, as last year saw them reach the top of the window before the risk of frost had passed.

Sorry you've had so many family illnesses to cope with. Such a lot of stress!

Yes, your garden is calling - spring is here (on and off, lol) and the weeds are doing their own thing everywhere.

Good luck with all those seedlings!

I hope all continues to be well with your family now. :-)

Sorry to hear of the stressful time you've just had. I hope everyone improves in health now the spring is here.

I grew potatoes in tubs last year but it was a complete disaster. I hope to have better success this time now. Good luck with your sewings.

All the best, Hywel.
