Just a few photos before I go off to London to see my son John receive his MA in Fine Art Print at The Royal College of Art. I am so excited.
The last photo is the only flowering fern. The flower is a bit plain I’m afraid.

Lovely photos from your garden ...
I don't think a fern can have flowers though. They reproduce by spores which form in sporangia on the under-side of the fronds.

Hi Linda, the common name for Osmunda regalis is flowering fern, but the way they appear, makes it look like a flowering shoot, with the flowers 'gone over', Derek.

It is quite a boring flower but they do call it the only flowering Fern.
