It has been pretty slow here so I haven’t put much up on the site. At last I have something to photograph.

Thanks everyone. The Camelia is a great treat this time of year it never fails to lift my spirits. I cut the grass last week. It was the perfect day.....sunny with a light breeze.
The weather here has been pretty good but we may have snow tomorrow. :0/
So much for spring.
The only day we won't be there Karen is 15th April. It is my sister's birthday.
Happy Birthday Karen x

Not much longer now.

Sounds like you're getting the weather system I had last week. We had a nasty late winter storm, then it just stayed very cold for over a week. Half my spring bulbs are ruined.

Sorry about that Bathgate. Continental weather can be more viscious than we are used to. We have the Gulf Stream down the west side of this country, it certainly makes a difference.

p.s. Years ago a neighbour went up to Oban on holiday in
March. He told me he was talking to a gardener working on the civic flower beds, this man was only wearing a shirt, trousers, and pullover. He said that was all he ever wore to work all winter, never wore a coat. This was the effect of the Gulf Stream. So thats where to buy a house if you come to live in this country !

Thanks Diane, I'll keep that in mind. I am so tired of shoveling snow and chopping ice, my furnace blasting all day and night. The wind moaning & hoping my roof stays intact. lol! Im ready for Spring.

Well Bathgate, we woke this morning to snow. It didn't last long, in fact it was gone by lunch time and then we had a beautiful afternoon. Madness! The weekend looks pretty good so, fingers crossed. Just about to put a couple of photos of the snow online.
The Gulf Stream keeps a lot of islands on the west coast frost free Diane. They can grow plants I can't grow in the city. Often in the winter it is warmer than London.

Yes, I had to go to a meeting in London one winter, was shocked at how cold it was there.

Linda I do like your garden, very stately and mature, with some wonderful old trees, perfect setting!
