Happy New Year Everyone and Best Wishes for 2018 from All in the Lincs A...

Its a wet and dull start for the year so I’m making plans, can you remember me getting rid of the old dogrun, breaking up it was and looking very tatty..

That’s Morgan peeping through the gate, he belonged to Sherryl and some of you will remember him, when we lost him I removed the run opening up the side garden, Brynner had reached the stage whereby he rarely raced around and if he did it wasn’t very often, plus he never went onto the actual garden itself or dug any holes, quite content to wander slowly around the pathways or just sit and watch me, only moving when the mower got very close or it was too hot for him, as I said rarely. ..

If I want to be able to have my garden looking like that again I have to put up a new fence and have a dogrun for wet soggy months……………………………………….
The reason is Harriet, lovely she is and great company to share our home and garden with most of the time….Last summer I did have her nearly trained but there were occasions when the garden and ponds were very tempting..

It was her 1st birthday on xmas day and she was dressed appropiately for the occasion, spoilt rotten and received many presents, two of which were destroyed by her in less than five minutes, lol, Brynner did the same with one of his, lol…..

However as with all mischevious young Westies with a lot of energy and joy in everything inside and out, its good fun to race around and also hide things, that means cutting corners across the space which she considers is her right, inside and out, doesn’t matter if her indoors grows nice things, they only get in the way, also loves digging holes, also another thing her indoors doesn’t like., as we are not outside with her all the time I now have running tracks through the planting and various holes in certain places, never where I actually want them…LOL. Therefore my first big job for 2018 is to rebuild a new dogrun, save my garden and still let Harriet have her mad, happy moments..

Best Wishes and Happy Gardening in 2018 One and All xx….

Plenty to keep you occupied this year then! I could do with some of Harriets's energy... That's a lovely shot of your garden - those stepping stones on the left would make her a great race track wouldn't they?
A very happy New Year to all of you.

Our puppy is the same! He’s one in 19 days! He’s the same! He likes to just run around on our tiny lawn or hw’ll Just lay on it (unless it’s wet then we have issues with trying to get him to go out) but he does too occasionally like to get into the borders or to the pond edge but he’s shaky okay!

Happy New Year to you all Sue !
Yes I remember the old dog run being demolished, good luck with building the new one. Harriet is lovely but looks so full of mischief ! lol
Glad you all had a nice Christmas :)

Stera she keeps us all on our toes and that's a fact, I don't ever want to curb her energy so the fairest way is to go back how it was all those years back, I possibly will only need a three foot fence in height though, if I'd taken a new photo today you would see we already have a track straight down the centre, also some gaps in my borders again, all newly appeared since we had the snow and over christmas....

Ah its fun in your house as well then Dan, I remember you got your little pup not long after we had Harriet, you'll have to show us a new photo, both of ours have to be forced out if its actually raining and madam is not keen when its windy, however she does like to bark at it when she is outside....When we first got Harriet she actually walked on the net that is over the pond, of course it held her weight, different now though as she sinks, lol...

Fun and games it will be Hywel but its not fair to keep getting on at her, its more for me than her, she doesn't care, as with the other dogs they will be allowed in the garden when its summer and nice and dry, I will retrain her to use the pathways, lol.....

Lincs beautiful though your garden is I think a new dog run is the best solution for all concerned, and its nice to have something to plan while the weather is grotty.
Sending good wishes for a happy and healthy New Year.

Oh my,Sue,Harriet is certainly keeping you on your toes,so no need to join a gym at all, with her around to keep you on the run,so to speak ! lol .you must be as fit as a lop..(Yorkshire saying ? )whatever that is ..ha ha.
She looks so adorable though, and I'm sure she will soon get used to her dog run..better get your skates on then ,before all the bulbs come through ! :o) I love the photo of Brynner.... such a resigned 'look what I have to put up with' look....Oh,and a Happy New Year to you all xxx

Stroller its funny at times but it wouldn't feel that way for long would it, I love her to bits but I also love my garden, in fairness to her and my own peace of mind its the right thing to do..I'm going to be starting it as soon as I can get the posts, panels and bags of the ready prepared concrete sorted, haven't asked hubby as it would never get done,
I 'm just going to get on with it..
Best Wishes to You and Yours for 2018. xx

Hi Sandra, there is never a dull moment here, the place is full of toys and protective covers, honestly its like having a toddler around again, apart from the fact that the toddlers didn't destroy slippers and chew their toys up all over my freshly hoovered floor, lol..You're right I definitely don't need the gym, just a pair of non-slip running shoes for when I'm chasing madam off my garden, she moves faster than I do, lol.....Brynner is brilliant with her, he does often give her that very look, especially when she's running rings around him and he can't keep up, thankfully he does not follow her onto the garden bless him....Best Wishes to you and all your family for 2018 xx. I know you had a good christmas with your boys, I saw those happy smiley faces....

Your post made me wish for a puppy though I guess our old cat is better suited to us, She has her mad moments when she careers around the room. Often it is when we are ignoring her .

She had a Selection Box from Santa and it has been useful finding out what alternative foods she likes. Cats are stubborn. They will not eat anything they decide they don't like! Another reason we should have had a dog!

Have a lovely Happy New Year with lots more fun with Brynner and Harriet (great names).

Thankyou Eirlys, our cat Toffee is being funny about his food at the moment, I haven't bought a different brand, as you say they can be so stubborn, he's not starving though as he does eat his biscuits for his supper, just gone off the meat, we only have him now and there are times when he thinks he's human, lol..
Best Wishes to you and your Hubby for 2018 and Happy Gardening....

Happy New Year to you too! It would seem you're going to be very busy, one way or another in the next months. You've included some lovely pics of the dogs. Good luck with all your plans and here's to a healthy 2018 for you all.

Lovely blog! Thanks for the photos of your energetic young friend!

Hi Sue, here's wishing you and the family a happy 2018 too. For years I had the worry of Bonnie escaping but she's 14 now and rather slow, poor old girl, still greedy though, you know what labradors are like.

A happy New Year to you, too, Lincslass! ?

Young dogs are always so full of energy - we had half a dozen all at the same time for some years so I know what its like! LOL! ???

I had a cat when I was a single girl, I bought Kit-e-Kat which she turned her nose up at, then one day I found out that when I left for work she would go visit a lady down the road who was buying 3 variety's of the more expensive Whiskers for my cat to choose from. She then slept all day in ladies house but would be back at home when I returned from work. Talk about crafty cat.
