well hullo everyone. I decided the time was right to see what kind of yield I had from some more potato bags. Unfortunately my so careful markings did not stand the ravages of the weather so I cannot identify the variety of potatoes shown here. The yield from the five lots of bags did not differ much from one to another but the latest harvests have produced larger potatoes on the whole. CAN ANYONE IDENTIFY these specimens please. More importantly can anyone else show the results of their labours? I would love to see a pic of a yield from one bag to compare it with mine. Over to you.

It would help us if you could say what varieties you planted, Lilypad, this will cut the options down from 150 to 5!

I would suggest that pics. 1,3&4 are either Charlotte or Vales Emerald which is a cross between Maris Peer and Charlotte.
Pictures 2&5 look just too white to be any of the five names you have given, lilypad.
I have taken my thoughts from a potatoe selling web site
http://www.dundrynurseries.co.uk/plist.asp
You might be able to id the others from the pictures and descriptions here.

As a follow up to my last response I see that Charlotte is a second early. The site above also says that it is "ideal for Christmas harvesting". anyone know what they mean by this?
