I bought a packet of Acidanthera from Poundland in January. I planted them in a pot on the patio, no protection etc., thought they were not trying so shoved them in the garden in July. Surprised to see how pretty they are now. I had also lost the packet so didn’t know what they were for some time. I plan to leave them in the garden after they are finished – contrary to what other blogs say I should do with them.

I thought I didn't know what these were until I googled them - then realised I'd had some in a tub left outside all year round for several years before the hard winter finished them off. I hope yours survive being left out - they are really lovely aren't they?
