Arn't they sooooo cute

watering my hanging baskets I noticed I had a spectator.

My estamate is it’s about 8wks old by the size (brother had pet rabbits that acted like rabbits (multiplied) when we were kids.) Standing there and thinking oh! how cute! then it came to me…. MY LADYBIRD POPPIES!!!!

They had doubled their size from this photo and I was checking frequently for signs of flower buds. Then one day I went to check on them and GONE!!!! the only evidence that they were even there before were 1/2 inch stems.
This is what I have now!

Do I believe that this cute little thing could have done this atrocity???

No!!! but this one probably did!!

and this

Turns into THIS!!!

ARGGG!!!!!

LOL.....Oh kmccue.....I'm sorry for laughing but this is such a cute blog. I'm sorry about your poppies, but you have to admit.....they are very cute when they are little.

nice one K , my garden struggles to deal with slugs dont think there would be anything left if I had them bunnies.

Cute as babies but no thanks, don't want them anywhere near MY garden :)))))

Yes Mac but slugs are nowhere near as cute as bunnies so can't be forgiven!

I don't mind killing the slugs in my garden but I don't think I could kill these. Maybe it was slugs that ate your poppies Kris.

Yes, aster I have already determined that...Don't think N2organics is willing to give it up though. LOL that is one magnificently marked cat.

They are cute when they're little and I couldn't kill them either (now if a cat does it I wouldn't grieve). I am going to have to put a protective fence around my dwarf burning bush though before they kill it.

I'll lend you my cats K07...they often work as a team...the little one, Phoebe, keeps them talking while the big black tom, Morrissey, creeps up from behind! I saw them at work the other day, ganging up on a magpie sat on the fence! Needless to say he was too big a job for them. It's a shame them loverly bunnies can do so much damage...my money's on the slugs being the culprits!! :0)

Slugs...All the poppies down to 1/2 in stems overnight? either one very BIG slug or a whole heard of em!!! My money is still on the rabbits.

Ian...Hubby agrees with your first comment LOL he really liked the idea.
