Phlox in August

I inherited this phlox and it is very pretty at this time of the year. I am posting few images of it. There are 4 different kind although most of them are whites. They bloom for long time but they are top heavy and first rain will beat them to the ground. Also, deer loves them but so far so good….

Pink phlox no.1

You have some very impressive phlox there, Klahanie. They look lovely in such large groups. I can only grow the white ones successfully, they withstand our drier soil and have clumped up. Yours are gorgeous colours.

i struggle with the white ones but my pinks and lilac ones do very well.

They are beautiful, Phlox are one of my favourite flowers and I have a few types, but the summer ones are not very good this year. I think it has been too hot for them.
You have lots of pretty ones, I hope the deer will leave them alone for you.

They’re looking lovely Klahanie. I’ve only grown them for the last two years and have been amazed at their gorgeous scent.

The phlox is very pretty. Do they make good cut flowers? That's what I do when they flop in the rain.

Anget, I like the white ones the best.
Interestingly Sbg cannot grow white ones.

Never too late Siris.

Hywel, deer actually munched on several of them early in the game but I have sprayed them with garlic and hot sauce mix and they leave them alone now.

Thank you Sheila. Glad that you grow them as well. They do have a very distinctive smell. Don't they?
--------------
Bathgate, they do not last in a vase very long and are very messy losing these tiny flower petals so I do not bring them in.

Thank you all for your comments. It is a plant worth growing either against the fence or back of the border as they grow very tall.

I have a lot of these in my garden, whites being the most prolific, I split mine in the spring and they rewarded me by spreading even more, the mauve is the one that struggles here but at least it survives. Lovely photographs Klahanie

Thank you Lincslass. Mine tend to spread slightly as well. Also, white is doing better than pinks.... as yours.
