Walked to town and detoured through my Local Park

Hello on this cold grey St Davids day here in Wales ,has the title of my blog says on my way to town this morning I walked through the park it was very grey and dismal up there, I took some photo,s with my phone which show,s some fruit tree.s local school children have planted to make an orchard the tree,s were donated by local people who then attached label,s on them in memory of loved ones ,the school children will be allowed to harvest them when they bare fruit , they also erected bird boxes on many of the pine tree.s and wrote messages on them.In the photo of the very old benches ( I would sit on them in the early 1960.s with my two children and many times since with my grandchildren) you can see my town below through the tree,s ,there are some new paths being laid ,and the rugby post,s have seen many a ball put over with the dream of playing for Wales my son included lol .The park looks lovely in the summer when all the beds have flowers in them also there is a rose garden which I make sure to walk through it in June they have some very old roses which smell wonderful .I am writing this in my kitchen and it seems to be brightening up a bit so maybe I will go and water some pots !
PS the local school children also have a veg patch in the park which they go up with the school to plant my grandson aged 7 went with his class and came back with a lot of information and told me he was the best at weeding because he had done it with me lol.

Great that the children are involved with things like that.

Hywel hope it does get warmer my heating is on 13 hours a day !! sometimes I go into my daughters house and the heating is off she says she is warm so I must be feeling my age lol but on the other hand I tell her in the "old days" you wouldn't sit a house without a fire going in the grate in the winter . I suppose it all comes down to cost I think it the tariff should be at a set price for everyone hope I don't start a heated excuse the pun debate . love your true welsh flag .

I remember the old coal fires. They used to be kept burning all night. They were nice but a lot of work. I couldn't be without central heating now. I always feel the cold. They charge too much though :o(
The flag is only for St David's day lol ... thank you ...

What a great idea to plant a memorial orchard. In Germany where my daughter lived for a year the road sides were planted with fruit trees. The townspeople were able to bid for them and only they could harvest that tree. It was used for jams, jellies and fruit juice. You have great views.
