About me

I live in a modern house which had originally a tiny back garden. I have been able to extend it and it is now some 49 yards long by 23 yards wide. The front is covered in decorative stone with two small ponds and is planted with various grasses, eryngiums, ligularia, lythrum, phormiums, candelabra primulas and round the front edge are shrubs,a winter flowering prunus and a ornamental crabapple. The back garden is divided into various compartments inc a wildlife pond,Japanese gravel garden, shrub area, cottage garden borders and at the back a natural stream runs through over which I have built two small bridges. The garden slopes in two directions, so I have built a discreet decking area for a couple of chairs and a small table. A public footpath also goes through the back garden. I have a number of small statues inc one or two quite quirky figure. The garden opens under the National Garden Scheme (in 2007 the dates are 19 & 20 May but visitors are welcome by appointment too. Tel 019467 25431. I am also an Assistant County Organiser for the NGS in Cumbria.
