I am 49, retired through ill health, used to be a nurse (ward manager)

I have two children, one of each, both married. Two georgus grand sons and another grandchild on the way.

While I was on long trem sick leave my collagues used to send me lovely flower arrangements, I would look at and admire these and always wondered how they were done, from there grew an interest in flower arranging.

So, I joined a class then a flower arranging club, now a member of NIAFA and NIFAS.

Flowers are easily enough to buy but, foliage is very expensive for all you get, so from that I took more interset in gardening mainly growing plants that can be used in flower arrangements.

I have gone from having just a lawn to a well stocked garden.

My greatest joy is growing on from cuttings or buying small plants and seeing them take off and grow.
