Actually, we have a garden seat which I've just uncovered. I've decided it's no longer going to be covered up, but am going to put it in the garden for everyday use. I'm a bit shocked coz there were some holes in the green plastic cover and quite a bit of the wood has got wet. I've now left it out to dry and will "bully" my hubby (not really!!) into staining it. Did you use a stainer? Does it have any sort of wood preservative in it? I think that's what our garden bench needs. It's over 10 years old but like you said of your neighbour, hardly ever used. That's gonna change!! Thanks for the inspiration Jacque!!
