Hello my friends :) I hope you are all well …
I’m sorry I haven’t been able to send you any comments recently, but it has been rather a difficult time for us here these past few months.

Beryl is quite disabled with arthritis, and it has got so bad that she now relies heavily on me for support with most things.

She also had a sudden illness a few weeks ago which resulted in her being admitted to hospital for a while,
and those are not the nicest of places, …

All in all (including several things going wrong with the house) it seemed to drain my energy away, so that I wasn’t able to concentrate on GoY nor anything else much for a time.

However, now that we’ve had a special seat installed in the car, so that Beryl can get in, we decided over the week end that it was time, at last, to venture out into the big wide world again :o)

The seat swivels around, then it slides out.

You sit on it, slide it back in, and then it swivels back into the car,
and then you are ready for your journey :o)

.

We didn’t go far – only 7 miles to a little village
near-by, where there’s a nice café and a few small shops …
and we took the scenic route lol … which went past Castell Carreg Cennen,
and I took some views of it from different angles as the road winded it’s way along :-

It was a beautiful day, and here are some autumn views of the Carmarthenshire countryside around where we live.

I think the fresh air tired us both out lol but I hope to be able to visit here a bit more often from now on :o)

Brilliant Hywel, it so good to see you again and really delighted to hear Beryl is well enough to enjoy a few trips out, that seat will be a great help for both of you, looks comfy as well, doesn't matter if you stayed local its still a change of scenery and being tired caused by fresh air is always good for body and mind.
You picked a good day for it and the scenery is spectacular, was good here in lincs as well, unlike today as we are shrouded in fog...

Lovely views and blue skies, Hywel. Sorry to hear about the difficulties both you are Beryl are having. That seat looks very useful and will make life a little easier for both of you. A change of scenery is always beneficial even if it is fairly local.

Good to hear from you again, Hywel. I do hope Beryl is on the mend after her stay in hospital. You are right: even though everyone is very kind, they are not the nicest places to be. The car seat looks very good, and I hope you'll enjoy many more trips. The photos are lovely.

Hello Hywel - so sorry to hear that you both are not feeling to great - that seat looks very comfortable and handy - it is good to get out and perhaps call for a coffee or something - a change of scenery does everyone good - a few weeks back we drove through Laugharne on our way back from St Davids - such pretty countryside - I remembered your blog on the sea lavender - we parked up - we could just see the Dylan Thomas boathouse - best wishes to you both - Jane

Prynhawn da, Hywel.

Sorry to hear about your problems but glad you are beginning to overcome them. It's odd how everything happens at once.

Your photos of Castell Carreg Cennen brought back some memories. I was going on 18 the last time I visited the castle, a very long time ago. As Sixth Formers we walked from Sennybridge over the Beacons and Llyn y Fan Fawr, I think it was., with our Geography teachers. Recall going down a dark stone passageway to a well in the ruined castle. I bet a lot has changed now.

Glad you are able to see such a beautiful landscape again now you have that special chair. Give the place a wave from me next time you're passing!

That's amazing Hywel - just before looking at today's blogs I sent you a PM - which you've probably seen by now. Its such good news that you've managed to have a trip out. That car seat is splendid and must be a godsend for Beryl. I hope she is fully recovered from her illness anyway and that your house problems are sorted. It must have done you both good to get out into the countryside for a while.

11 Nov, 2015

Thank you both :)

I did wonder where you had gone. There are some people, even though I don't know you, that one seems to attach themselves. In the world of GOYS you are one of them. I do hope that everything is starting the upward spiral. I have never seen that seat before, but what a brilliant idea. I have had five hip operations, and could have used one.

We will be pushing for you and your family.PS I loved the photos, just beautiful.

14 Nov, 2015

Just catching up with a few blogs I was unable to read while away in Spain for the first couple of weeks of November.

As always it was great to see the Welsh countryside again through the lens of your camera! :-))

Sorry to hear about Beryl but glad for you both that she is recovering. I wondered where you had got to in the week or two before we went to Spain. Now I know! LOL!
