Well done, ours perished, must admit to not looking after them !!

That's unfortunate, they are quite precise in their requirements, rain water, peat bog type growing medium.

If I can ever get the silt out of my pond I want to put these in with the water iris to stabilize the " bog coat" over the mucky areas. a lot of wild stuff in there and it's hard to get at it without sinking to my hips. Yours are beauties! can't wait to see them bloom.

I think S. purpurea will be ok in our freezing temperatures, will have to wait and see about those that grow in Alabama and Florida.

Good luck, Siris. Alabama and Florida don't get much snow!

Gnarly, They've got much more browning on the top of the pitchers now, but I'll leave cutting these off till April, they do protect the crown a bit.

Gg, surprising there are buds already considering the freezing temperatures we have had. Sarracenia x bellii had its flower heads destroyed by that hail storm we had in May last year.

Siris

I will be giving my lot a good watering today and each one a check over, its a good time to split as well or re-pot over the next couple of weeks ...

What else?

See who else is growing Sarracenia flava (Yellow Pitcher Plant).

See who else has plants in genus Sarracenia.

This photo is of "Sarracenia flava var. flava "North Carolina"" in Siris's garden
