Ixia lutea - 2020

Ixia lutea - 2020 (Ixia lutea)

Ixias come from South Africa and are generally not hardy, but as this one grows in mountainous regions, it may be hardy enough to try outside. Full sun, sharp drainage, stems about a foot tall. The flowers are a pale cream but looked bleached in sunlight (if I wait until they are in shade, they have closed!)

You've loads of grit around it, good luck.

Sue - I've got this in my raised bulb bed. Planted last autumn, it has come through the winter (although it was a very mild one)
