Gosh, so white already! I have three 'Silver Shadow' in my garden, but they were planted at 3 feet tall and although they are definitely growing well, I think it will be a couple of years yet before I start to see any white on them. Patience.......;)

Karen this was a 6 ft muti stemmed planting, they are slow, I shall be pleased when they thicken out a bit, patience as you say, the Silver Shadow is a beauty.

Yes, they were very very expensive and I had to buy three to get the multi-stemmed effect....but I know it will be well worth it in the future. :)

I'm going tree hunting! We have the paper birch growing in groves in the woods. Hope to find some seedlings to transplant next spring. Have avoided them because they're prone to a fungus which requires the use of Cygon...and I don't use chemicals. I'm hoping the wild ones from hill country aren't susceptible! ;-)
the himalayans look beautiful. with your good care they will thrive! congrats.
