Still waiting on Spring . . .

Well, today is April 22nd and I woke to snow on the ground . . . again . . . :( We are on track for having the coldest April on record, and the temps continually plunge to around 25 degrees at night. My poor plants are beginning to suffer – some of them are starting to look downright dreadful and I’m afraid they won’t recover unless there is a pretty drastic change in the weather. We are still hoping that Spring gets here soon to stay – we’ve seen a couple glimpses of it, but they are always gone in a flash and followed by rain and snow and cold . . . . yuk, yuk, yuk is all I have to say!!

How awful for you GN. In Scotland we are known for our terrible weather, but I have to say we have had a high of 20 degrees for some days now. It is still possible for us to have a frost until May. My son is in New York at the moment and I thought he would be enjoying warm weather.

Poor you GN. My brother-in-law lives in Massachusetts and he has had awful weather too.

We have been very lucky here with lots of lovely sunshine but we do need rain, so I expect it will come soon. Good weather doesn't usually last long here.

Wishing you better weather soon.

Visited our son in Arlington, VA, last month. Think we picked one of the best weeks in March - it was glorious! He did say, however, that snow fell the following week!

It is lovely in London, England. absolutekly scorching weather. It is more like Summer than Spring here. Teh Soring plants did not last as long, but the Summer plants have come on leaps and bounds.

Oh you poor thing - snow! Still! And 25 degrees at night??? I don't think I could stand it. We're averaging in the low 80s during the day and in the 50s at night. I am trying to get some of the heavy work - like clearing brambles - done now since in a month or so it will be so unbearably hot that such a task will be impossible. The summers here are so hot and humid & the mosquitoes are so bad that I often take 2 or 3 showers a day just to cool down.

Well, thankfully Easter weekend was a bit better - discounting the fact that I woke up both mornings to 25 degrees on the thermometer - it at least stayed sunny and was decently warm during the days. Back to the rain today, though - and there are whispers of snow in the forcast again . . . maybe May will bring with it some better weather?? :)
