Hoya Bella

Hoya Bella

Have grown this for many years in the house and it never fails to flower .
Although it looks exotic it is very easy, pieces cut off root in water in days. (it is almost the only house plant I grow)

That's a spectacular flower head - they look like sugar flowers used for cake decoration.

Bjs - yes they are grown in other parts of Oz, but I've never seen them up here in the tropical north. I most certainly have seen them on gardening shows but have never seen the real thing in any of our nurseries around here.

Well Bjs after making the comment that I had never seen them in the nurseries here - guess what happened yesterday! Went into a local Mitre 10 warehouse and I spotted a collection of hoyas! Unbelievable - they were tiny and very expensive but I had to have one - so I got the bella. The warehouse has a new manager who is also a great gardener and is purchasing things not normally seen up here - will be returning!
