Salvia Officinalis

Salvia Officinalis (Salvia Officinalis)

A simple sage, but so pretty and a lovely colour too.

Hi, just went thru a lot of salvias to find the one I have, which is having beautiful blue spikes now, but will die in winter, in spring when I have cut it down to the ground, it just start growing again, lovely.

Hi Marleen! I never cut this back at all, it is semi-evergreen. There are some wonderful Salvias and I think I will try to expand my collection next year. The shrubby ones are wonderful in late summer and autumn and I don't have any of those...yet!! Verticillata 'Purple Rain' is my absolute favourite salvia but this one is great for cooking with!
